I believe children are capable of a lot more than we give them credit for.  I further their capabilities by creating a supportive environment of independence. 

My focus of learning are the following:

-Emotional regulation 

-Conflict resolution 

-Life skills (ie. putting shoes on, eating with a fork)

-Manners

-Humor

-Imagination 

I provide a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning.  

I am 100% play-based and the curriculum depends on the kiddos interests day to day or week to week. I do not follow a set curriculum or plan in advance.  The kiddos and I talk about our day and what they would like to do at circle.  The day is then planned around this.

I believe children should stay as young in their eart as possible for as long as they can!  They have 13 years of academics ahead of them so I plan to make their daycare days as joyful and full of fun as possible 🥰

We go on frequent explorations in our Pitt Meadows Community.

Hello! My name is Ms. Erin and this is Heylazy, our schit-zhu mascot 😄  He has been part of the Monkey Butts family everyday since he was 2 months old.  

I spent most of my career working in the Human Rights field.  I was a Legal Advocate with the Legal Services Society, helping prisoners with their human rights.  I was responsible for all of the BC provincial prisons as well as 2 medium security BC prisons.  I loved this job but I had another calling.

I became an Early Childhood Educator in 2016.  I worked in a few large facilities before I realized that small, family daycares are where the true magic happens!

I can spend my whole day one on one with all of my kiddos.  I have up to 8 per day and I luv each and everyone of them in their own way.  

All of my day is spent learning from these tiny beings and watching them grow into the purest they can be.  

I have had most of my kiddos since they were 18 months old.  Most have moved on to Kindergarten which gives me mixed feelings of sadness but happiness for their new adventure in life 🥰

I am silly.  I am fun.  I am stern and I am fair.  My kiddos are aware of the boundaries and I do not let even a toe go past them.  I find my littles like this as they know what is expected and can navigate accordingly. 

I am one of a kind and not at all like any other daycare you will tour.  I encourage learning, imagination and silliness in play which develops the skills your little will need to excel in life.

 I have an Associate of Arts degree in Criminology from Douglas College and a BA in Criminology from SFU.  I also have a license to practice as an ECE in BC, as well as the schooling required for it.
